Inevitable Change

There are things that many just simply do, without necessarily taking time to evaluate in detail. It’s all too easy to get caught up in a very muscle memory- based routine that wanders as the wind directs. Been there, done that, too many times.

However, there is a reality that settles in, whether any of us like it or not: if we really like something, chances are it’s gonna change. If we really dislike a situation, chances are it’s also gonna change.

How many of us have planned an ideal outing or vacation, only to have all of our magical plans plotted out in our mind, only to be thwarted by nature who, unfortunately, has different plans for the weather? There is no amount of anger, frustration , or persuasion, that can persuade the weather to be anything other than what it actually is. And an even more frustrating part is for any of us to think that our grumbling or anxiety might, in fact, make any difference whatsoever, at least as far as ma nature is concerned.

A much more realistic (and arguably practical) paradigm, in my mind, is to change my clothes, rather than fantasizing about changing the weather.

Wind is going to wind, rain is going to rain, and night will invariably step aside, as daylight exerts its presence (with cosmic exceptions for those living near Earth’s poles).

For those ambitious enough to insist on making change, at the very least, I might recommend starting with factors more realistic than changing the weather.
